Missouri 83, Nevada 70:
Earnest Ross scored a career-high 28 points as the Tigers defeated the Wolf Pack to finish 2-0 in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Jabari Brown added 24 points and Jordan Clarkson chipped in 21, marking the first time Missouri (7-0) has had three 20-plus point scorers since a win over Ole Miss on Feb. 9. Brown and Ross also narrowly missed double-doubles with nine rebounds each.

Deonte Burton led Nevada (3-5) with 20 despite a 5-for-17 effort from the field. Marqueze Coleman was the only other Wolf Pack player in double figures, finishing with 15 off the bench.

Missouri jumped out to an 11-2 lead immediately, and stretched the advantage to 44-26 by halftime. Ross scored 16 for the Tigers before the break to help build the lead.

But Nevada outscored the Tigers 29-16 to start the second half, closing within 60-55 on a pair of Burton free throws with 7:51 to play. That’s as close as the Wolf Pack would get, though, as Missouri went on a 12-4 run to pull away and seal the victory.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Missouri is 7-0 for the second time in five seasons. … The Tigers were 31-for-33 from the free-throw line. … Missouri outrebounded Nevada 39-31.
