Alabama 52, Georgia 45:
Rodney Cooper scored 14 points – including a key 3-pointer late – as the visiting Crimson Tide ended the Bulldogs’ five-game winning streak.

Levi Randolph nailed the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2:22 remaining and added seven rebounds for Alabama (16-8, 8-3 SEC), which improved to 12-4 when holding opponents to fewer than 60 points.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who was held without a field goal in Saturday’s win over Texas A&M, led all scorers with 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Georgia (12-12, 6-5).

Both teams struggled to find any sort of offense after the Tide entered the break with a 25-22 lead, combining for 17 points over the first 13:29 of the second half.

Alabama established an eight-point cushion on a jumper by Nick Jacobs, but watched Caldwell-Pope score seven points during a 9-0 run that gave the Bulldogs a short-lived 41-40 lead with 2:22 left. However, 3-pointers from Randolph and Cooper allowed the Tide to score nine unanswered points and seize control.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Alabama held its ninth straight opponent to less than 60 points. … Caldwell-Pope extended his double-digit scoring streak to 24 games. … The Tide held their third consecutive opponent to less than 40 percent from the field – the Bulldogs shot 30.8 percent (16-of-52) – and have done so in six conference games this season.
