Alabama 59, Arkansas 56: Trevor Lacey scored 14 points and the host Crimson Tide put together another solid defensive effort in topping the Razorbacks in Southeastern Conference play.

Trevor Releford added 12 points and Nick Jacobs had 10 for Alabama (13-7, 5-2 SEC), which has held five straight opponents under 60 points. The Crimson Tide made 9-of-10 free throws in the final 3:11 to defeat Arkansas for the sixth time in the last eight meetings.

BJ Young scored 14 points to pace Arkansas (12-8, 3-4), but airballed a potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer. Marshawn Powell added 11 points before fouling out in the waning seconds.

The Crimson Tide led by as many as 11 points in the first half but trailed 50-47 with 4:14 to play. Levi Randolph buried a 3-pointer to tie the score and Releford gave Alabama the lead for good with two free throws with 2:59 left.

A steal and a layup allowed Arkansas to get within 56-54 with 50.8 seconds left, but Lacey hustled for an offensive rebound on the other end and was fouled with 16.7 ticks remaining. He hit 1 of 2 at the line. Young scored with 4.7 seconds left and Randolph added two from the line before Young's airball.

GAME NOTEBOOK
: Powell committed all five of his fouls in the second half. ... Lacey had seven of Alabama's 21 turnovers, including five in the first half. ... The teams combined for 18 assists against 36 turnovers and shot a collective 6-for-30 (20 percent) from beyond the arc.
