No. 10 Creighton 79, Northern Iowa 68: Doug McDermott scored 31 points as the host Bluejays ousted the Panthers to remain unbeaten in Missouri Valley Conference play.

Austin Chatman had 12 points and Grant Gibbs added 11 as Creighton (17-1, 6-0 Missouri Valley) won its 11th consecutive contest.

Anthony James scored 25 points and Jake Koch added 19 for Northern Iowa (9-9, 2-4), which was just 4-of-15 from 3-point range.

McDermott scored 21 second-half points as Creighton steadily pulled away. The Panthers were within 53-46 after a layup by Marc Sonnen with 12:34 remaining before the Bluejays went on a 17-8 spurt to take a 16-point lead with 3:15 left.

Northern Iowa led 14-7 after a 3-pointer by James with 14:25 left in the first half. Creighton took the lead for good at 23-22 on a 3-pointer by Gibbs with 7:05 remaining and led 37-32 at the break.
