Washington 65, Stanford 60: C.J. Wilcox had 27 points and nine rebounds as the Huskies won their third consecutive road game to open Pac-12 play.

Wilcox scored the last five points for Washington, his final basket with seven seconds remaining giving the Huskies (11-5, 3-0 Pac-12) a two-possession lead. Aziz N’Diaye added 14 points and seven rebounds while Desmond Simmons had 13 rebounds for Washington.

Dwight Powell scored 19 points to lead Stanford (10-7, 1-3). Chasson Randle, the team’s second-leading scorer, did not start after being late for the morning shootaround but still scored 13 of his 16 points in the first half for the Cardinal.

Neither team led by more than four points in a first half that featured 12 lead changes and both teams shooting 15-for-29 (51.9 percent). Stanford led 36-35 at the break.

Wilcox made the last of his four 3-pointers to give Washington its biggest lead, 52-44, with 9:57 remaining, but Stanford hung around until Powell shot an air ball with 24 seconds remaining that would have tied the score. Wilcox made one of two free throws on the other end and then scored on a fast-break layup after another miss by the Cardinal to push the lead to 65-60.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Huskies won three consecutive road games to open conference play for the first time since 1912. … Washington finished with six assists on 24 fields goals. Stanford had seven assists on 23 baskets. … Wilcox came into the game averaging 13.8 points on the road this season and 21.5 at home.
