: Dylan Talley scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Cornhuskers defeated the Chippewas in the semifinal of the Sun Bowl Invitational.

David Rivers recorded a career-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting and added seven rebounds while Ray Gallegos scored 19 and Brandon Ubel chipped in 14 for Nebraska (8-3), which will play host Texas-El Paso on Sunday. The Cornhuskers shot 57.1 percent from the field.

Kyle Randall led Central Michigan (6-5) with 27 points and eight rebounds. John Simons (14) and Blake Hibbitts (11) also reached double-digits.

Gallegos made three 3-pointers in the first 3:50 as Nebraska ran out to a 16-6 lead. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Talley and Rivers' jumper made the Cornhuskers lead 30-15 with 10:22 left in the first half before Ubel's layup pushed the cushion to 18 points 4:06 later.

After taking a 43-33 lead into halftime, Nebraska went on a 10-2 run to extend its lead to 59-47 with 12:32 left. Central Michigan got as close as 68-63 with 6:25 left as Randall scored seven straight points, but Talley's 3-pointer, two free throws from Ubel and Benny Parker's layup pushed the lead back to 12 as the Cornhuskers pulled away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nebraska made 9 of 18 3-pointers (50 percent). ... Randall made all 15 of his free throws. ... Nebraska coach Tim Miles won the event in 2011 as the Colorado State coach.
