Talib Zanna scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, both game highs, and the host Panthers outscored the Hornets 40-16 in the second half to extend their winning streak to seven games.

Junior forward J.J. Moore came off the bench and scored 15 points, and freshman center Steven Adams added 10 points to help Pittsburgh (11-1) improve to 9-0 at home. The Panthers are 4-0 in the series.

Delaware State (5-7) fell to 1-5 on the road. The Hornets were led by sophomore guard Tahj Tate, who scored 19 points and was the only Delaware State player in double figures.

Tate’s layup with 8:36 left in the first half gave Delaware State its only lead of the game, 15-14, but Zanna made two free throws with 8:21 left to give the Panthers a 16-15 lead. Pittsburgh led 31-27 at halftime and never again trailed.

Pittsburgh shot 61.2 percent (30-for-49) from the field compared to Delaware State’s 39.5-percent (17-for-43) shooting. The Panthers outrebounded the Hornets 33-10.
