No. 17 Michigan State 76, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 44: Gary Harris scored 13 points to lead three players in double digits as the host Spartans rolled to a victory over the Lions.

Michigan State (7-2) got 12 points and five assists from Travis Trice off the bench while Branden Dawson added 10 points and seven rebounds.

DaVon Haynes led all scorers, pouring in 20 for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-7), which was held scoreless for the first nine-plus minutes of the game,

That initial drought stifled any hope the Lions had for an upset. Michigan State built a 14-0 lead by the time the Lions dented the scoring column on Mitchell Anderson's bucket with 10:13 left in the half.

The Spartans stayed comfortably ahead for the remainder of the game, leading by as many as 37 points. Keith Appling added nine points for Michigan State, which got six apiece from four other players.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Michigan State started Dawson at power forward for the second consecutive game. ... The Spartans improved to 6-0 at home this season. The Lions won't play their first home game of the season until Jan. 2. ... The two teams combined for 38 turnovers.
