Aaron White led the way with 21 points and six rebounds as the host Hawkeyes had little trouble with the Coyotes.

Roy Devyn Marble added 14 points and eight rebounds, Mike Gesell scored 12 and Adam Woodbury chipped in 10 for Iowa (7-2), which dominated the glass in improving to 6-0 at home.

Trevor Gruis scored 16 points and Casey Kasperbauer hit four 3-pointers en route to 14 for South Dakota (4-5), which has only two wins against Division I competition.

The Hawkeyes made their move over the last 4:45 of the first half, turning a one-point lead into a 45-32 gap at the break. White and Gesell scored four points each and in the 15-3 burst that closed the period.

A 10-2 burst early in the second half stretched it out to 57-38 and Iowa was not threatened the rest of the way. White’s free throws with 5:33 on the clock pushed it to 75-50 and the Hawkeyes pulled the starters a few minutes later.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Coyotes shot 34.5 percent from the field and committed 18 turnovers. … Iowa finished with a 50-28 advantage on the boards and had six different players grab at least six rebounds, led by Gabriel Olaseni’s nine. … South Dakota senior G Juevol Myles came in leading the team in scoring at nearly 16 points but was held to eight on 2-of-12 shooting.
