Tennessee 77, Oakland 50: Jarnell Stokes scored 19 points and Trae Golden added 18 as the host Volunteers beat the Golden Grizzlies for the first time.

Tennessee had lost to Oakland in each of the past two seasons but won this time, thanks to a strong start. Kenny Hall grabbed 11 rebounds for the Volunteers (4-1), his first double-digit board effort of the season and sixth of his career, as Tennessee dominated the boards by a 41-23 margin. Hall also scored nine points.

Travis Bader finished 18 points and Corey Petros had 10 for the Grizzlies (2-5), who were playing their sixth straight road game.

The Vols jumped on Oakland early, scoring 20 of the first 25 points and played fantastic defense, limiting Oakland to 15 first-half points on 5-of-32 shooting from the field. Tennessee led 38-15 at halftime.

The Grizzlies were coming off their worst shooting performance at the Division I level, firing at a 27.6-percent clip in Friday's loss to Michigan State. Oakland connected on 28.6 percent this time, missing 40 of its 56 shots from the floor.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tennessee went 10-for-12 on two-point field goals in the first half. ... Petros, who entered the game as the Summit League leader in field-goal percentage, hit only 3 of 9 shots. ... Golden also dished seven assists.
