No. 8 Florida 79, Central Florida 66: Kenny Boynton scored a season-high 24 points and the Gators remained unbeaten by overcoming potent 3-point shooting from visiting Central Florida.

Scottie Wilbekin contributed a career-high 17 points and eight assists for Florida (5-0), which outrebounded the Knights 36-26 and forced 18 turnovers.

The Gators remained unbeaten but struggled at times. They missed their first nine shots of the game, allowed an 11-0 run by Central Florida (3-2) to open the second half and also permitted the Knights to shoot 55 percent from 3-point range.

Florida survived its imperfections thanks to Boynton and Wilbekin. Boynton shot 7-of-15 after spraining his left ankle Tuesday, and his biggest shot was a 3-pointer early in the second half that stopped Central Florida's run and pushed the lead to 13. Wilbekin also had a big 3-pointer with 10:39 remaining that stretched the lead to 14.

Kasey Wilson led Central Florida with a career-high 20 points. He hit four of his five 3-pointers in the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Florida forward Casey Prather made his season debut after sitting out the first four games with a concussion. He scored eight points. ... The Gators improved to 10-1 against Central Florida and avenged a three-point loss from two years ago in Orlando. ... Knights leading scorer Isaiah Sykes collected 12 points and nine rebounds but also committed eight turnovers.
