Pepperdine 58, Washington 56 (OT):
Senior guard Lorne Jackson scored 15 points, including the game-winning layup with 12 seconds left in overtime, as the host Waves rallied from a five-point deficit at the start of overtime to pull out their first win of the season.

Senior forward Brock Motum, the reigning Pac-12 Conference scoring champion, scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the error-prone Cougars (2-1), who also blew an eight-point lead late in regulation and committed 19 turnovers.

Washington State (2-1) looked to have the game under control when D.J. Shelton's jumper increased the Cougars' lead to 50-42 with 5:25 left in the second half.

But Pepperdine (1-2) closed to within 50-48 on a pair of 3-pointers by Jackson, and freshman forward Stacy Davis, who finished with 14 points, tied it with a layup with 24 seconds remaining to eventually force overtime.

Senior guard Mike Ladd had 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Cougars while sophomore guard Jordan Baker added 13 points and five steals for Pepperdine.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington State was the first member of the old Pac-10 to visit Firestone Fieldhouse since 2002. ... Motum needs 14 points to become the 33rd Cougar to score 1,000 points in a career. ... Kansas transfer Royce Woolridge, the son of the late Orlando Woolridge who starred at Notre Dame and was the sixth pick of the 1981 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, finished with 11 points for Washington State.
