LSU 77, UC Santa Barbara 63:
Memphis transfer Charles Carmouche scored 16 points to lead the Tigers past the visiting Gauchos and make a winner of coach Johnny Jones in his LSU debut.

Jones, a former player and longtime assistant at LSU under Dale Brown, was the coach at North Texas the last 11 years but took over his alma mater when Trent Johnson left for TCU.

Junior guard Kyle Bosworth scored 17 points to lead the Gauchos, who led 20-16 midway through the first half thanks to a pair of 3-pointers from Bosworth and Michael Bryson.

LSU rallied to take a 27-22 lead with an 8-0 run that included back-to-back 3-pointers by freshman forward Shane Hammink and sophomore forward Johnny O'Bryant III.

O'Bryant finished with 13 points and eight rebounds while Hammink and fellow freshman Malik Morgan added 10 points each for the Tigers.
