Baylor 75, Xavier 70: No. 3 seed Baylor took advantage of a hot start and Quincy Acy's dominating effort on the inside, holding off a late run to advance past 10th-seeded Xavier in an NCAA South Regional semifinal in Atlanta.

The Bears (30-7) will face either top-seeded Kentucky or No. 4 Indiana in Sunday's regional final.

Five different Baylor players got into the scoring column during a 14-2 run over the game's first 4:52, and the Bears stretched the lead to 22-4 by the second media timeout. The Musketeers (23-13) used a 13-0 run late in the first half to get as close as four, and another late surge, capped by Tu Holloway's 3-pointer with 21 seconds left, made it 71-68. But Brady Heslip hit a pair of free throws to ice it for the Bears.

Acy had his way in the paint, finishing with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting while grabbing 14 rebounds and throwing down a handful of powerful dunks.

The Musketeers, making their fourth Sweet 16 appearance in five years, were unable to climb all the way back from the large early deficit. Xavier missed its first 11 3-point attempts of the night, failing to connect until the 2:01 mark of the second half.

Pierre Jackson scored 16 points for Baylor while dishing out 10 assists. Holloway led the Musketeers with 22 points in defeat, while Kenny Frease scored 18 and Mark Lyons added 16.
