Georgetown 64, Pittsburgh 52: Henry Sims posted a double-double and Georgetown used a late first-half run to put away Pittsburgh and advance to the Big East tournament quarterfinals.

The fifth-seeded Hoyas (23-7, 12-6) will face No. 4 seed Cincinnati on Thursday afternoon.

Despite struggling offensively, the upstart Panthers (17-16) had an early 23-19 lead before Georgetown scored 12 unanswered points over the final 4:07 of the opening period to take the lead for good. Otto Porter scored 14 points in the second half to help the Hoyas pull away.

Sims finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Hoyas, while Porter also contributed 20 points. Georgetown dominated Pittsburgh, the Big East's top rebounding team, inside, finishing with a 36-25 edge on the glass.

Ashton Gibbs scored 14 points on 4-for-12 shooting to lead Pittsburgh. The Panthers shot just 27.6 percent (8 of 29) during the first half and finished the day 5 for 21 from 3-point range.

GAME NOTEBOOK: With the loss, Pittsburgh will see its run of 10 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances come to an end ... Georgetown improved to 4-1 in Big East Tournament play against the Panthers ... Pitt was just 11 of 18 from the foul line, while the Hoyas hit 22 of 31.
