Anthony Hickey collected 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals as Louisiana State cruised to a 76-57 victory over Western Kentucky on Friday in the Charleston Classic.
Justin Hamilton added 18 points and nine boards for the Tigers (2-2), who will conclude the tournament on Sunday against the winner of Virginia Commonwealth vs. Georgia Tech.
LSU was only up 40-38 at the half but came out of the locker room on fire. The Tigers opened with a 27-7 run, capped when Malcolm White put back an offensive rebound and completed a three-point play. Western Kentucky went over seven minutes without scoring and eight minutes without a field goal during the run.
The Hilltoppers shot just 7 of 25 (28 percent) in the second half. After going 8 of 31 from 3-point range in an opening round loss to Tulsa on Thursday, Western Kentucky hit just 5 of 24 from beyond the arc on Friday.
Kevin Kasper scored 15 points to lead the Hilltoppers (1-3), who will play the loser of the Georgia Tech-VCU game on Sunday.
