OKLAHOMA STATE 90, TEXAS 78: Keiton Page exploded with a career-high 40 points to help hot-shooting Oklahoma State blow past Texas.

Page, a 5-foot-9 fan favorite playing one of his final games in Gallagher-Iba Arena, nearly broke his previous career-high of 29 points by halftime. He hit all 14 of his first-half free throw attempts, totaling 27 points and helping the Cowboys (13-14, 6-8 Big 12) build a 51-39 lead at the break.

It was a costly loss for the Longhorns (17-10, 7-7 Big 12), who snapped a four-game winning streak that had put them back in the hunt for an NCAA Tournament berth.

J’Covan Brown, the Big 12’s leading scorer, did his best to keep Texas in it, totaling 15 of his 20 points after halftime. But the Longhorns didn’t get enough production outside of Brown and freshman Myck Kabongo, who finished with 22 points. Texas closed the gap to 61-58 on Brown’s jumper with 10:14 left but never got closer.

Page’s fourth three-pointer of the game made it 67-60 with 8:48 remaining, and three minutes later Markel Brown scored five straight points to extend the lead back to 74-61.

Page finished 20-of-20 from the free-throw line. It was the most points ever for an Oklahoma State player against Texas.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Keiton Page’s 27 first-half points came on only seven field-goal attempts… Oklahoma State beat Texas for just the second time in the past 13 meetings... Page’s previous career-high of 29 points came against Murray State on Nov. 28, 2010.
