SOUTH FLORIDA 65, VILLANOVA 51: Hugh Robertson and Victor Rudd each scored 14 points and the Bulls held the Wildcats more than 22 points below their average for their sixth win in seven Big East home games.

Anthony Collins (seven assists) and Jawanza Poland added 10 points apiece for South Florida (16-10, 9-4 Big East), which has held 18 opponents to 60 points or less.

Villanova’s James Bell was called for a flagrant 1 foul and Wildcats’ coach Jay Wright received a technical to help South Florida build a 16-4 run and take a 37-27 lead with 12:01 remaining.

JayVaughn Pinkston, who scored a career-high 28 points in Villanova’s last game, was 1 for 12 from the field and scored eight points. Maurice Sutton had 10 points to lead the Wildcats (11-14, 4-9).

Villanova’s leading scorer Maalik Wayns dressed, but did not play because of a sprained MCL suffered in the last game. The Wildcats led by as much as five points in the first half, but settled for a 20-20 tie at halftime.
