LSU 67, ALABAMA 58: Justin Hamilton scored 21 points and the host Tigers took advantage of a Crimson Tide team decimated by suspensions and broke a five-game losing streak to Alabama.

Alabama played without four starters. Tony Mitchell had been suspended from the previous game and was joined on the sidelines by JaMychal Green, Trevor Releford and Andrew Steele, who made the trip to LSU but were sent home after violating team rules.

LSU (14-10, 4-6 SEC) raced to a 31-15 lead at halftime. The Tide closed the gap to 46-41 with 9:10 left before LSU regained its footing and pulled away.

Hamilton was 9 of 12from the floor and added six rebounds. Freshman Johnny O’Bryant added 17 points and game-high nine rebounds for LSU.

Alabama (16-8, 5-5) got a career-high 28-point effort from freshman Rodney Cooper, who made three 3-pointers, and 14 points from Nick Jacobs.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The suspensions left Alabama with only eight scholarship players. ... The 15 points marked Alabama's lowest first-half output of the season.
