Kevin Jones collected his 12th double-double this season, and Darryl Bryant added 18 points as host West Virginia earned its eighth consecutive victory over Rutgers with an 84-60 romp Saturday.

The Scarlet Knights (10-8, 2-3) have made strides in the Big East this season, but for the second time in 10 days fell victim to a first-half blitz by the Mountaineers (13-5, 4-2).

West Virginia, which posted a 51-26 halftime lead en route to an 85-64 triumph at Rutgers on Jan. 4, raced out to a 48-22 advantage at the break Saturday.

Jones had 24 points and 14 boards, and Bryant bounced back from a season-low eight points in Monday's loss to Connecticut.
In between meetings with the Mountaineers, Rutgers had defeated league stalwarts Connecticut and Pittsburgh, the latter a 62-39 road thumping Wednesday.

Freshman Myles Mack, who went scoreless against Pitt, led the Scarlet Knights with 15 points off the bench. Dane Miller added 12 points and 13 rebounds for his second straight double-double, but leading scorer Eli Carter was held to just six points on 1-for-5 shooting.

The Mountaineers forced 19 turnovers and kept Rutgers without a field goal for nearly seven minutes during one second-half stretch as they padded the lead to 30. Deniz Kilicli pitched in 14 points and Jabarie Hinds 11 for WVU.
