Washington raced out to a big early lead and never trailed on the way to a 95-80 win over Oregon State in the Pac-12 Conference opener for both teams Thursday night at Seattle.

The Huskies (7-5) got a game-high 26 points from Tony Wroten to beat the Beavers (10-3) for the ninth straight time at Seattle.

Abdul Gaddy’s layup gave Washington its biggest lead, 40-20, with five minutes left in the first half. The Huskies, which had six players score in double figures led 50-39 at the break in a game of two of the nation’s top scoring teams.

Washington held a comfortable lead for much of the game but Oregon State trimmed the deficit to 83-80 with just under three minutes to play. At that point the Beavers went ice cold, however, and the Huskies scored the final 12 points of the game.

Oregon State saw its four-game winning streak come to an end. The Beavers were led by Joe Burton with 18 points and Angus Brandt had 16.
