E.J. Singler scored 12 points as host Oregon downed Stephen F. Austin 55-45 Thursday at the Global Sports Hoops Showcase.

Devoe Joseph added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Ducks (9-3), whose 55 points were the fewest points scored in a win by the team since a 54-point effort in a victory over Southern California on Feb. 25, 2010.

Oregon, playing for the fourth time in five days, continued its recent stretch of unimpressive play despite sweeping this three-day round-robin event as it struggled to collect wins at home against Stephen F. Austin, Prairie View A&M and North Carolina Central.

Only N.C. Central – at 7-6 – has a winning record.

The Lumberjacks (5-7) never held the lead in the second half, but got as close as 38-37 with 7:16 remaining on a jumper by Jereal Scott, but the Ducks answered with consecutive jumpers to stretch the lead out to six.

Oregon, which shot 41.9 percent from the field, finally found its offensive rhythm late as it hit four of its final six shots and eight of its last 10 free throws.

Scott finished with a game-high 16 points for Stephen F. Austin.
