Drew Gordon had 13 points and 13 rebounds as New Mexico held on to defeat host Southern Cal 44-41 on Saturday for its fifth straight victory.

Tony Snell added 10 points for New Mexico (7-2), which committed a season-high 24 turnovers and shot only 13-of-39 (33 percent) from the field, including 3-of-15 from beyond the arc.

After trailing by 12 early in the second half, Southern Cal (4-6) took a 41-40 lead on Dewayne Dedmon’s three-point play with 1:49 remaining.

Dedmon’s fifth foul sent Snell to the free throw line, where he made both shots to give New Mexico a one-point lead with 1:26 left. A.J. Hardeman hit two free throws to secure the win.

Maurice Jones had 19 points and five rebounds for Southern Cal, which continues to struggle offensively. The Trojans have yet to score 70 points in a game this season.

The Trojans scored only 40 points in a loss at Minnesota last Saturday, and trailed New Mexico 23-15 at halftime.

Southern Cal, which shot 17-of-51 (33 percent) from the field, fell to 0-3 against Mountain West opponents this season. The Trojans were outrebounded 31-22.
