Darryl Bryant netted 12 of his career-high 27 points during a 25-3 run to open the second half and help send West Virginia to a 77-66 victory over visiting Miami on Saturday.

Deniz Kilicli added 18 points for the Mountaineers (6-2), including eight during the decisive run, and Kevin Jones had 12 points and nine rebounds.

West Virginia didn't lead until two Bryant free throws made it 39-37, but by the time their blitz was over, the Mountaineers owned a 60-40 advantage. Miami didn't hit a second-half field goal until 11:01 remained.

Malcolm Grant's 17 points led Miami (5-4), which also got 15 apiece from Kenny Kadji and Garrius Adams, who averages only 5.6 points.

The Mountaineers were coming off an 85-80 double-overtime victory against Kansas State in Wichita, Kan., less than 48 hours ago, and fell behind early Saturday.

Five of Miami's first eight field goals were 3-pointers as the Hurricanes grabbed a 21-15 lead. They had shot only 5-for-18 behind the arc the entire way in Tuesday's 71-54 home loss to No. 20 Memphis.

The Hurricanes hit only one more 3-pointer the rest of the half, though, and clung to a 37-35 halftime edge. Both squads shot 50 percent from the floor and turned the ball over only three times in the first half.

Miami rallied from 13 points down in the second half to beat West Virginia 79-76 at home last season.
