Jamar Samuels scored 15 of his game-high 17 points in the second half to help visiting Kansas State rally to beat Virginia Tech 69-61.

The Wildcats (5-0) shot only 27 percent from the field in the first half in falling behind 28-22, but they took over after the break.

Kansas State opened the second half on a 12-2 run, seizing a 34-30 lead when Martavious Irving found Jordan Henriquez for a fast-break dunk. That caused Virginia Tech coach Seth Greenberg to launch his coat behind the bench in frustration.

Samuels also had 14 rebounds for his second double-double in a row, and Shane Southwell added 11 points off the bench.

Robert Brown scored 15 off the bench to lead Virginia Tech (5-3), which lost to Kansas State for the second straight season. Erick Green, the Hokies' leading scorer, finished with 14 points on 4-of-17 shooting.

The Wildcats took a 49-43 lead when Southwell converted a running floater with 7:40 left. A couple minutes later, Will Spradling found Henriquez for an alley-oop that extended the lead to 55-45.

The Hokies have led at the half in every game this season, but they’ve blown the lead three times.

Kansas State coach Frank Martin won his 100th career game.
