Jason Clark and Hollis Thompson combining for 30 first-half points as Georgetown cruised to an 86-45 victory over visiting UNC-Greensboro on Monday.

Clark, a senior guard, and Thompson, a junior forward, finished with 19 points apiece as coach John Thompson III was able to clear the bench in the second half.

The Hoyas (2-0) haven’t been challenged in their first two games, but that will likely change when they meet Kansas in the Maui Classic on Nov. 21.

UNC-Greensboro (0-2) trailed 41-16 at the half and was never in the game after that. The Spartans started last season 0-15.

The Hoyas rode the shooting of Thompson and Clark, who scored 14 of the first 15 Georgetown points, to a 15-4 lead.

The Spartans' Trevis Simpson, last season's Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, and guard Korey Van Dussen were both held scoreless in the first half on 0-for-5 shooting.

Simpson finished with 11 points.
