The highly-touted freshman trio of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Anthony Davis and Marquis Teague combined for 54 points as No. 2 Kentucky pounded Marist, 108-58, in the first game of the Hall-of-Fame Tip-Off Tournament.

Davis finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Wildcats (1-0), who last scored 108 points against Tennessee Tech on Nov. 28, 2003. Teague added 16 and Kidd-Gilchrist scored 15 as five Kentucky players finished in double digits.

Each player was ranked No. 1 at their positions in the Class of 2011 by various recruiting analysts and lived up to their billing in the opener.

Marist (0-1) hung around for most of the first half, trailing by only four points with 4:02 remaining, but Terrence Jones keyed a 7-2 run to give Kentucky a 45-36 advantage at the break.

After Davis began the second half with a dunk to move the lead into double digits, the Wildcats pulled away in impressive fashion over the final 20 minutes, outscoring the Red Foxes, 63-22, while holding the Red Foxes to 17 percent shooting (6-of-35) from the field in the second half.

Isaiah Morton led Marist with 13 points.
