Ashton Gibbs scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half, which No. 5 Pittsburgh began with a 29-9 run to dump host South Florida 66-50 on Wednesday.

Nasir Robinson added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers (26-4, 14-3), who can take the Big East title with a victory at home against No. 19 Villanova on Saturday or a Notre Dame loss at Connecticut.

Pittsburgh earned its program-best seventh Big East road win and gave Jamie Dixon his 214th victory, which surpassed Everett Case and Roy Williams for the most by a coach in his first eight seasons.

The Bulls (9-21, 3-14) had built a stunning 27-24 halftime lead behind Jarrid Famous' 11 points and 10 rebounds. He finished with 15 and 12.

Gilbert Brown chipped in 10 points for Pitt, which shot 17 for 31 in the second half after going 8 for 23 in the first.

Augustus Gilchrist, who scored 32 points in Saturday's 86-76 win at DePaul, also had 15 for South Florida.

The Panthers also struggled against the Bulls before prevailing 67-55 on Feb. 16.
