Brandon Triche scored 16 points and Rick Jackson collected 13 points and 13 rebounds as No. 17 Syracuse snapped a four-game slide with a 66-58 victory over No. 7 Connecticut in Hartford on Wednesday.

Kris Joseph chipped in 11 points for the Orange (19-4, 6-4 Big East), who had never lost five in a row under head coach Jim Boeheim.

Syracuse did not get onto the scoreboard until Triche converted a layup with 14:29 left in the first half and fell behind by as much as 23-14 with 4:36 until the break. But the Huskies went cold from the field over the last few minutes, allowing the Orange to grab a 26-25 lead heading into the locker room.

Connecticut shot just 29 percent (9 of 31) in the first half, including a 2-of-8 performance from Kemba Walker.

Triche scored seven straight points to begin the second as Syracuse extended the lead. The Huskies would tie it at 36-36 but the Orange did not surrender the advantage, stretching it out to as much as nine points midway through the period. Connecticut tried to make a push in the final minutes but Syracuse responded each time.

Walker finished with a season-low eight points on 3-of-14 shooting for the Huskies (17-4, 5-4), who have dropped back-to-back games at home.
