No. 4 Pittsburgh rebounded from a slow start and rolled to an 80-50 victory over DePaul in a Big East Conference game Saturday afternoon in Rosemont, Ill.

Pittsburgh (19-1, 7-0 Big East) won its ninth straight overall and built on its best-ever start in league play. DePaul (6-13, 0-7) dropped its 20th straight game against Big East opposition dating to last year.

Gilbert Brown paced the Panthers with 17 points, while Ashton Gibbs added 13 as Pittsburgh shot 54 percent from 3-point range, hitting 7 of 13.

Pittsburgh trailed 14-12 midway through the first half but used a 15-6 run over the next 5:18 to take the lead.

Brad Wanamaker added nine points and nine assists and Gary McGhee had a career-high 15 rebounds for Pittsburgh, which outrebounded DePaul 46-29.

Cleveland Melvin scored 11 points to lead the Blue Demons, who shot just 34.5 percent and had only 19 field goals.
