Jeff Brooks finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds, helping Penn State hold on for a 66-62 win over No. 19 Michigan State Saturday afternoon in State College, Pa.

The Nittany Lions (9-6, 2-2 Big Ten) grabbed the upper hand for good, 62-61, on a tip-in by Andrew Jones with 1:59 remaining. The Spartans had a pair of opportunities to draw even but missed on both, the latter when Durrell Summers missed a 3-point attempt with 10 seconds on the clock.

Michigan State led by five at the half, before Penn State opened the second period with a 15-4 run to seize a 44-40 advantage, the first of 11 lead changes in the final 20 minutes.

Jones added 16 points for Penn State, which committed just six turnovers on the day. Summers led Michigan State (10-5, 2-1 Big Ten) with 21 points.
