Brad Reese scored 21 points and Mike Singletary added 12 as Texas Tech easily dispatched Delaware State, 79-60 Tuesday.

Jaye Crockett joined in double figures with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Red Raiders (8-7), who shot 58 percent from the floor in the rout.

Texas Tech raced out to a 43-27 lead at the half and stretched it to a 25-point edge midway through the second half before taking its foot off the gas. The Red Raiders controlled the interior before the break, taking a 25-7 rebounding advantage and a 28-10 edge in points in the paint into the locker room.

Jay Threatt scored 12 points to lead Delaware State (4-8).

Winners of three of four,Texas Tech will see its schedule get quite a bit tougher over the next week when it hosts Baylor in the Big 12 opener Saturday and then faces off against No. 12 Texas before traveling to No. 17 Kansas State the following weekend. The only ranked opponent the Red Raiders saw in the pre-conference schedule was then-No. 22 Washington, which rolled to a 108-79 victory against Tech.
