Louisiana State picked up a much-needed victory before hitting the road.

Malcolm White scored 16 points and Ralston Turner added 15 for the Tigers in a 62-41 win over Southern on Monday.

LSU (8-5) entered the game having lost two straight and three of four to the likes of Coastal Carolina, Wichita State and North Texas. With three straight road games coming up, the Tigers needed a win to get back on track. White and Turner made sure they got it.

The Tigers led 28-12 at the half, thanks to a pair of runs. LSU started the game with an 11-2 run and closed the opening half with an 11-1 spurt.

Southern (1-11) was led by Ray Ray Chase, who scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Chase was the only Jaguar in double figures.

The Jaguars, who have lost nine straight, shot just 30 percent (17-of-56) from the field, including 1-of-10 from the arc.
