Tu Holloway had 14 points, 14 assists and had 10 rebounds, and Xavier used its power in the paint to outmuscle visiting Wake Forest 83-75 on Saturday night.

Kenny Frease, a 7-foot center, had 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Musketeers (7-2), who had all five starters score in double figures.

Xavier jumped out to a 14-4 lead and took advantage of opportunities around the basket. Xavier outscored Wake Forest 50-18 in the paint, and held a 45-34 rebounding advantage.

The Musketeers led 39-30 at halftime, and led by as many as 13 points in the second half as they gained confidence before their game at Gonzaga on Wednesday.

J.T. Terrell scored 27 points off the bench, including 24 in the second half, for the Demon Deacons (6-5), who have dropped two of their last three games.
