Gary Johnson finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Cory Joseph scored 18 points as No. 25 Texas easily dispatched North Florida 70-48 on Tuesday.

Six players grabbed at least five rebounds for the Longhorns, who dominated on the inside with eight blocked shots and a 50-29 rebounding edge.

Texas (8-2) could not get much done on offense in the first half, but still managed to take a 35-16 lead into the break thanks to a defense that held the Ospreys to 25 percent (6 for 24) shooting and forced 13 turnovers. The Longhorns dominated on the glass as well, building up a 29-14 rebounding advantage through the first 20 minutes as they took control.

A brutal stretch of non-conference games await Texas over the next few weeks, with games against North Carolina, Michigan State, Arkansas and Connecticut coming up before Big 12 play begins at Texas Tech on Jan. 11.

North Florida (4-6) has dropped three straight, the last two at ranked teams Purdue and Texas. The Ospreys still have to make road trips to Maryland and Kansas State.
