Washington State got 50 points from its high scoring duo of Klay Thompson and Faisal Aden on Friday night as the Cougars used a strong second half to rally past Fresno State 66-55 at Fresno, Calif.

Aden, a junior college transfer, scored a career-high 28 points and Thompson scored 22 as Washington State (4-0) won its first official road game of the season, the fifth straight time the Cougars have been victorious in their road opener.

Fresno State (1-3), which held a 32-31 halftime advantage, led 44-39 midway through the second half, before Washington State reeled off 10 straight points to take a 49-44 lead, one it would not relinquish.

Aden was 11 for 22 from the field, including 6 for 12 from 3-point range, and Thompson was 8 for 16 as the Cougars shot 47.3 percent from the field. Thompson and Aden are the top two scorers in the Pac-10 Conference.

The Bulldogs, who were led by Garrett Johnson’s 18 points, hurt their chances by shooting 35.2 percent from the field and 50 percent from the free-throw line (9 for 18).
