No. 13 Kansas State 75, Texas Tech 55:
Thomas Gipson had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the host Wildcats past the Red Raiders and give Kansas State its 12th conference victory for the first time in the Big 12 era and the first time since the 1972-73 season.

Nino Williams came off the bench and scored all his points during a decisive 11-3 run for Kansas State (23-5, 12-3 Big 12), which won for the eighth time in nine games, including four straight. Angel Rodriguez had 16 points, seven assists and four steals while Williams added seven rebounds.

Dusty Hannahs scored 14 points to lead Texas Tech (9-17, 2-13), which has lost 13 of 14 games, including nine straight. Jaye Crockett added 13 points off the bench and Jordan Tolbert had seven points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Red Raiders, who fell to 1-7 on the road.

Rodney McGruder had 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Kansas State, which took a 31-30 lead into halftime thanks to McGruder’s jumper with 2 seconds remaining. Texas Tech went up 44-42 on Tolbert’s jumper with 14:19 to play before Williams' explosion gave Kansas State a 53-47 lead and ignite a runaway victory.

Kansas State improved to 20-10 in the series against Texas Tech, including 12-2 at home. The Wildcats have won the last seven meetings, including a 68-59 victory Feb. 5 in Lubbock.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kansas State coach Bruce Weber is tied with Bob Huggins (23 wins in 2006-07) for the most wins by a first-year coach in school history. … Kansas State outrebounded Texas Tech 41-20 and the Wildcats were 14-for-19 shooting from the foul line to the Red Raiders’ 6-for-12 shooting. … With a major winter storm forecast throughout Kansas on Monday night and Tuesday, Kansas State athletics officials announced special offers to “make it more convenient for fans” to attend Monday night’s game. General admission parking at Bramlage Coliseum was free and all Kansas State students with a valid student ID were admitted free of charge.
