Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 32 points to lead the host Oklahoma City Thunder to a 124-112 win over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night.

Gilgeous-Alexander bounced back a night after being held to just seven points, his lowest total since December 2019, on 2-of-16 shooting against the Denver Nuggets.

Gilgeous-Alexander topped that mark in the first quarter, scoring 10 points in the opening frame as the Thunder built a 12-point lead early.

Oklahoma City never trailed after the opening two minutes.

The Thunder started hot from behind the arc, going 5-for-9 on 3-pointers in the first quarter before finishing 13-for-29 (44.8 percent) from distance.

Josh Giddey scored a season-high 21 points in the win, while Jalen Williams added 19 and Chet Holmgren chipped in with 14. Holmgren also had four blocks.

Gilgeous-Alexander finished 11 of 23 from the field as Oklahoma City shot 53 percent as a team. He also made all nine of his free throws.

Jaden Ivey led the Pistons with 20 points off the bench, while Cade Cunningham added 17 and Ausar Thompson had 15 to go along with 10 rebounds.

The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for Detroit.

The Pistons found themselves in a hole early, trailing 33-21 after one quarter after shooting just 30 percent from the floor and turning the ball over six times, leading to eight Oklahoma City points.

Detroit briefly pulled within eight in the second quarter, but a quick 7-0 Thunder run extended the lead back to 15, and the Pistons only got as close as seven the rest of the way.

Gilgeous-Alexander had 28 points heading into the fourth quarter and spent much of the period on the bench as Oklahoma City's lead ballooned as high as 21.

But Gilgeous-Alexander returned with just under five minutes left and later hit a bucket to reach the 30-point mark.
