NEW YORK -- Orlando Magic coach Scott Skiles on Monday knew that his weary team was ready to put their putrid 35-point home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday behind them at a place where they had never won before.

"I didn't know what the record was, but I knew we hadn't won here before," said Skiles, the first-year who realized that the Magic held a 0-6 mark against the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. "I don't know how much that message was received by the players."

It was heard loud and clear.

"We all knew we hadn't won here," said forward Tobias Harris, whose 15 points and nine rebounds helped the Magic roll to a 105-82 victory over the Nets on Monday. "We wanted to bounce back in the right way and get ready to play good basketball."

Center Nikola Vucevic scored 12 of his game-high 18 points in a critical third quarter and guard Elfrid Payton added 17, as the Magic (13-11) broke open a close game with a decisive 31-24 third quarter, keyed by the perimeter prowess of Vucevic, who made 6 of 8 shots in the period.

"Vuc is very talented," Skiles said of his center. "We made a concerted point to get him the ball in our pick-and-pop. But he just took the ball and backed down his man and made shots."

All of the Magic made shots, connecting on 53.9 percent from the floor and 9 of 21 from 3-point range.

"That's what we needed," said forward Channing Frye, who got things going early with three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points. "We found a rhythm. Instead of taking good shots, we took great shots."

"We played good team basketball," said Harris, who was questionable to play right up until game time with a lower leg contusion. "We moved the ball well. The energy was there. We got good looks and made the shots. It's a relief to get back to playing the kind of basketball we played earlier this season."

Six players reached double figures for the Magic, including forward Andrew Nicholson (15 points) and guard Victor Oladipo (10) off the bench.

"We were good on both ends," Skiles said. "This wasn't a game that we luckily won. This was a good win. It was our best ball handling game in a while. We were seeing each other, then knocking down shots. It looks like we're back on track playing well, like we were doing a few weeks ago."

Jarrett Jack scored 15 points and Andrea Bargnani added 12 as Brooklyn (7-17) lost for the fourth time in six games.

The Magic took an 82-69 lead into the fourth quarter, then scored the first seven points of the final period to put the game away at 89-69 with 9:06 left.

NOTES: Nets coach Lionel Hollins was asked pre-game about the recent scoring surge of second-year guard Bojan Bogdanovic, who has averaged nearly 15 points per game over the last three games, earning a starting spot in the process. "It's just by being aggressive," Hollins said. "He's looking for shots instead of standing around and waiting to take threes. He's getting a lot more opportunities because he's looking for his shot.'' Bogdanovic had 10 points in 33 minutes last night. ... Hollins said that he's still searching for the right combinations to use every night, thus the 7-17 record. "I'm looking for the aggressive defense and intensity that we need," Hollins said. "Which combination of guys can I put out there in order to make a run." ... The Magic were without former Nets guard C.J. Watson (sore left calf). ... The Magic has made at least one 3-point field goal in 680 games, dating back to March 17, 2007. ... It was the 900th game of Magic coach Scott Skiles' career. Skiles has a career mark of 456-444.
