Cavaliers 117, Nets 92: Timofey Mozgov and J.R. Smith each recorded 17 points as Cleveland pulled away from Brooklyn for its 14th consecutive home-court victory.

LeBron James contributed 16 points and seven assists while Kyrie Irving scored 12 and dished out 10 assists for the Cavaliers, who were 15-of-29 from 3-point range. Kevin Love came back after resting the previous two games to chip in with 10 points and 11 boards as Cleveland won for the fifth time in six games.

Deron Williams led the way with 20 points for the Nets, who lost for the sixth time in their last eight contests after making only 5-of-20 from behind the arc. Bojan Bogdanovic registered 12 points, Jarrett Jack had 11 and Mason Plumlee added 10 off the bench while Brook Lopez scored 10 to go along with eight rebounds for Brooklyn.

The Nets led by as much as 13 in the first quarter before the Cavaliers warmed up and Smith scored 11 during an 18-2 burst early in the second for a 41-30 lead. Brooklyn pulled within five, but James drained a 3-pointer and added a dunk to start another burst as Cleveland scored nine of the final 11 to take a 59-47 lead at intermission.

The Cavaliers’ lead shrunk to nine early in the third quarter before running off 16 of the next 20 points – 10 from Mozgov and three each from James and Smith – for an 81-60 lead. Cleveland led by 21 entering the final period and the Nets had no answers as they dropped their fourth straight to the Cavaliers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cavaliers have made at least 10 from 3-point range in five straight games and in 31 contests overall this season. … Brooklyn SF Joe Johnson went 3-of-9 from the field for only six points in 27 minutes after scoring 22 in his previous outing. … Cleveland had 18 assists on 22 made field goals in the first half and 32 on 45 for the game.
