Bulls 104, 76ers 95 (OT): Aaron Brooks scored 18 of his season-high 31 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as shorthanded Chicago survived at Philadelphia.
Pau Gasol collected 27 points and 16 rebounds for his career-high and NBA-best 44th double-double of the season for the Bulls, who were without Derrick Rose (knee), Jimmy Butler (elbow), Taj Gibson (ankle) and Joakim Noah (left knee soreness). Nikola Mirotic contributed 16 points, 12 rebounds and five assists as Chicago snapped a three-game skid.
Ish Smith scored a career-high 23 points and Isaiah Canaan added 20 off the bench for the 76ers, who have not won consecutive games since Jan. 28 and 30. Nerlens Noel tallied eight points, 15 rebounds and four steals while Robert Covington scored 12 points and Thomas Robinson grabbed 15 boards for Philadelphia.
Philadelphia didn't score for more than 7 1/2 minutes to start the second half but played solid defense to prevent Chicago from running away. The Bulls' lead reached 79-65 on a Kirk Hinrich 3-pointer with 9:44 to play, but Smith, Canaan and Hollis Thompson each hit triples during a 15-0 run, capped by a Thompson drive that gave the Sixers an 80-79 lead with 6:11 left.
Brooks buried a long 3-pointer with 33 seconds left to tie it at 92, and the 76ers missed two shots to regain the lead in regulation. Philadelphia went 1-for-9 from the floor in overtime while Brooks scored seven points and Gasol had four in the extra period.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Noel is the first NBA center to record at least four steals in four consecutive games since Hakeem Olajuwon in 1988. … Gasol has 24 games this season with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds, third-most in the NBA behind DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis. … The Bulls have won five straight in the series and 10 of the past 11.
