Cavaliers 102, Pistons 93: Kevin Love matched a career high with eight 3-pointers en route to 24 points and nine rebounds as visiting Cleveland shut down Detroit in the second half.

LeBron James added 19 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds but committed nine of the Cavaliers' 15 turnovers. Kyrie Irving overcame a slow start to finish with 18 points and Timofey Mozgov had 14 while Kendrick Perkins scored two points in two minutes on his debut for Cleveland, which went 14-of-37 from 3-point range.

Reggie Jackson produced 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Pistons, who were doomed by a 12-point third quarter. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 21 points and Andre Drummond had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Detroit, which has dropped four straight meetings with the Cavaliers at home.

Caldwell-Pope connected from beyond the arc to give the Pistons their biggest lead of the game at 67-53 before Love drained four 3-pointers during a 20-3 surge to put Cleveland ahead 73-70. James scored six points as the Cavaliers used a 12-4 run to open the fourth quarter to pull ahead 89-78, and they never looked back in earning their third straight win.

Love buried back-to-back 3-pointers to put Cleveland in front 17-8 and the Cavs nailed five triples in the first quarter to grab a 30-27 edge. Drummond scored six points as part of a 14-0 surge to turn a seven-point deficit into a 51-44 advantage, and Jackson tallied five of his 15 first-half points in the final 21 seconds to put the Pistons on top 62-53 at intermission.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cavs went 20-of-24 from the free-throw line while the Pistons finished 18-of-30. … James passed Scottie Pippen (6,135) for the most career assists by a forward. … Detroit SG Jodie Meeks has made 29 straight free throws, which is tied for the longest streak in the NBA.
