Bulls 112, Suns 107: Pau Gasol collected 22 points and 14 rebounds and Jimmy Butler scored 19 as Chicago edged visiting Phoenix.

Derrick Rose scored 16 points and Mike Dunleavy added 15 for the Bulls, who bounced back from a loss at Detroit on Friday. Taj Gibson and Aaron Brooks scored 12 points apiece off the bench and Chicago knocked down 12-of-24 from beyond the arc.

P.J. Tucker scored 20 points and Marcus Morris had 17 for the Suns, who fell to 0-2 since trading away Goran Dragic and have lost seven of eight overall. Eric Bledsoe recorded 13 points, eight assists and seven rebounds while Brandon Knight scored 13 off the bench in his Phoenix debut.

Joakim Noah found Gibson for an alley-oop to tie it at 85 and Brooks followed with a pair of 3-pointers to put the Bulls in front by six with 8:44 to play. Rose’s driving layup made it a 102-93 gap with 4:16 remaining, but the Suns chopped the deficit to 108-107 on Markieff Morris’ 3-pointer with 25 ticks left before Rose and Butler sealed it at the free-throw line.

The Suns shot 58.1 percent from the field in the first half to take a 56-52 lead into the break and pushed the advantage to eight points with under two minutes left in the third. Dunleavy and Gasol each hit a 3-pointer during an 8-2 run to close the third and the Bulls went into the final period trailing by a pair.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Phoenix F John Salmons and G Marcus Thornton, who were acquired at Thursday’s trade deadline, have yet to debut. … Noah was limited to three points on 1-of-5 shooting but contributed 12 rebounds and eight assists. … The Suns shot 53.4 percent from the field but were 3-of-8 from the free-throw line and were outrebounded 47-36.
