Jazz 97, Bulls 77: Derrick Favors collected 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way as visiting Utah caught Chicago on a cold night.

Gordon Hayward added 18 points and Trey Burke scored 17 for the Jazz, who improved to 2-2 in January. Rudy Gobert recorded 11 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks while Trevor Booker had 15 points and eight boards off the bench for Utah.

Taj Gibson scored 15 points off the bench and was the only regular to shoot better than 50 percent from the field at 6-of-10 for the Bulls. Pau Gasol scored 13 points and Jimmy Butler had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Chicago, which shot a season-low 33.3 from the field in its lowest scoring effort of the campaign.

The Bulls took a 25-24 lead on Derrick Rose’s free throw with 6:11 left in the first half but managed three field goals the rest of the quarter and shot 28.3 percent in the half to go into the break down 36-32. Burke’s basket with 7:37 left in the third gave Utah a 49-37 lead before Chicago made a brief surge and cut it to a three-point deficit.

Favors scored Utah’s final six points of the third quarter to help make it a 63-51 cushion, and the Jazz scored on their first six possessions of the fourth to spread it to 77-54. Favors’ short jumper made it 90-64 with 4:13 left and Utah coasted to the finish.
