Lakers 88, Pacers 87: Kobe Bryant scored the go-ahead basket and had 20 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals to propel host Los Angeles past Indiana.

Bryant scored the Lakers’ final nine points, including the decisive jump hook with 12.4 seconds as the Lakers improved to 5-12 at home. Nick Young hit all 12 of his free-throw attempts while scoring 22 points and Carlos Boozer added 12 for the Lakers.

C.J. Miles scored 19 points off the bench and Donald Sloan added 16 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Pacers, who possessed a 50-37 rebounding advantage. Roy Hibbert contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds and David West had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Los Angeles knotted the score at 74 on Young’s basket with 7:18 to play and finally took its first lead since the opening quarter when Bryant drained a 3-pointer for an 84-82 lead with two minutes to go. Sloan’s jumper gave the Pacers an 87-86 edge with 1:01 left before Bryant worked his way into the lane and scored and Indiana’s final possession ended with Hibbert firing up a desperation 21-footer that hit off the top of the backboard.

The Pacers rattled off the final 14 points of the first quarter for a 28-15 lead before Los Angeles finished strong in the second to cut Indiana’s lead to 48-41 at the break. The Pacers led by 11 in the final minute of the third before the Lakers scored the last five to trail 69-63 entering the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Indiana’s George Hill (groin) and C.J. Watson (foot) both sat out for the second straight game. … The Lakers were 28-of-30 from the free-throw line. … Hibbert recorded his eighth double-double of the season.
