Pistons 114, Kings 95: Brandon Jennings scored a season-high 35 points as Detroit pulled away late to win a fifth straight game by double digits.
Andre Drummond added 15 points and 14 rebounds and Greg Monroe had 14 and 11 for the Pistons, who last won five straight games in the 2009-10 season. Jennings shot 14-of-21, including 5-of-8 from the arc, and added seven assists and two steals as Detroit also improved to 5-0 since the departure of Josh Smith.
DeMarcus Cousins had 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Kings, who fell to 3-7 under coach Tyrone Corbin since he took over for the fired Michael Malone. Darren Collison scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half as Sacramento completed a 1-3 road trip before returning home for six games.
A 3-pointer by Jonas Jerebko and a jumper and shot from the arc by Caron Butler - each player's only hoops of the game - sparked a quick 8-2 run that provided Detroit a 97-85 lead with 6:16 to play. A 3-pointer by rookie Nik Stauskas cut the deficit to nine, but Jennings countered with an explosive drive down the lane followed by a shot from the arc to restore a 105-91 edge with 2:57 left and the Pistons cruised to a season sweep of the Kings.
Shots from the arc by Anthony Tolliver, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jennings, and three free throws by Butler in less than a two-minute span pushed Detroit to a 55-36 lead late in the second quarter, but the Kings closed within nine at the half. Jennings scored 15 points in the third quarter, but the Kings got 10 from Collison and eight from Rudy Gay to pull within 84-78 heading into the fourth quarter.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Pistons are averaging 108.4 points during the winning streak - more than they scored in any of their first 27 games. ... Drummond posted 20-plus rebounds in his previous two games. … Jennings scored 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-8 from the arc, in Friday's win over New York.
