Grizzlies 105, Warriors 98: Marc Gasol led the way with 24 points and seven rebounds as Memphis snapped visiting Golden State’s 16-game winning streak.

Zach Randolph added 17 points and 10 rebounds while Mike Conley scored 17 as well for the Grizzlies. Vince Carter poured in a season-high 16 points off the bench for Memphis, which improved to 12-1 at home and pulled within a game of the Warriors for the best record in the NBA.

Klay Thompson scored 22 points while Stephen Curry collected 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals for the Warriors, who lost for the first time since Nov. 11. Marreese Speights contributed 18 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

The Grizzlies took an 86-72 lead on Jon Leuer’s jumper with just under 11 minutes to play but the Warriors scored the next 10 points and closed within 90-88 on Shaun Livingston’s layup with 5:09 left. Memphis scored the next seven points, capped by a pair of free throws after Andre Iguodala was hit with a technical foul, and Golden State did not get closer than three points the rest of the way.

The Warriors held a 30-24 lead at the end of the first quarter but went cold in the second as the Grizzlies bench led a 20-0 run to open the period. Golden State battled back within three before settling for a 57-49 deficit at the half, and Memphis never relinquished the lead in the third quarter while pushing it out to 80-69.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Warriors F Draymond Green recorded a career-high five blocked shots to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists. … Thompson has gone for 20 or more points in a career-high eight straight games. … Carter scored in double figures for the first time since an 11-point outing against Sacramento on Nov. 13.
