Pelicans 139, Timberwolves 91: Jrue Holiday scored 24 points to go with nine assists and Anthony Davis added 22 points as host New Orleans set a franchise record for points in a rout of Minnesota.

Austin Rivers scored 17 points and fellow reserve Ryan Anderson added 16 as New Orleans shot 75 percent from 3-point range and tied the franchise mark with 15 made 3s. Tyreke Evans collected 16 points, seven assists and four steals for the Pelicans, who have won four of five and at 5-3 are off to their best start in four years.

Rookie Andrew Wiggins scored 20 points to lead the Timberwolves, who have dropped four straight. Rookie point guard Zach LaVine added 13 points for Minnesota, which was without starters Ricky Rubio (ankle) and Thaddeus Young (personal).

New Orleans scored the first seven points and never let the Timberwolves challenge again. Eric Gordon converted a four-point play during an 11-0 run that stretched the margin to 20-6 and the lead didn't dip into single digits the rest of the way.

A 16-0 Pelicans run in the middle of the second quarter pushed it to 64-29 and New Orleans took an 80-44 lead into the break. The Pelicans kept pouring it on in the third quarter, going up by as many as 49 before coasting to the finish.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Pelicans set franchise records in the first half for field goals made (31) and attempted (43) and points (80). … New Orleans had nearly as many made field goals (18) as Minnesota had points (19) in the first quarter. … Young was not with the team and will miss at least one more game following the death of his mother.
