The Nets led by as many as eight in the first half before settling for a 43-38 lead at the break. Norris Cole scored the first five points of Miami's 11-0 run midway through the third as the Heat established a 60-51 lead en route to a six-point edge entering the fourth.

The margin remained six at 84-78 after Bosh scored his first points of the second half on a jumper with 3:15 to go and Chalmers had a three-point play moments later to make it 87-80. Jack's offensive foul led to another foul shot for Chalmers and Bosh helped put it away with a 3-pointer with 1:23 remaining.
