Heat 96, Nets 94: Ray Allen made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 32 seconds left and LeBron James had 29 points and nine rebounds as host Miami closed with a 13-3 run to defeat Brooklyn and win the Eastern Conference semifinals in five games.

Dwyane Wade scored 28 points for Miami, which will face either Indiana or Washington in the Eastern Conference finals. Chris Bosh added 16 points and Allen scored 13 as the Heat forced Brooklyn to miss nine straight shots during a late-game drought.

Joe Johnson had 34 points and seven rebounds, Paul Pierce scored 19 points and Deron Williams added 17 for the Nets. Johnson made a 3-pointer to pull Brooklyn within 95-94 with 11.4 seconds remaining before James split two free throws and then prevented Johnson from getting off a shot in the final seconds.

The Nets held a 91-83 advantage after Johnson’s basket with 4:48 remaining before going scoreless for more than 4 1/2 minutes as the Heat rolled off 12 straight points. James scored five of Miami’s next seven points to make it a one-point game with 1:12 to go before Allen knocked down the decisive 3-pointer and added two free throws to make it 95-91 with 21.6 seconds left.

Brooklyn held Miami to 34.1 percent shooting in the first half while taking a 49-42 halftime lead. The Heat scored the first seven of the third quarter but Brooklyn responded with a 12-2 burst for a 61-51 advantage midway through the period and held a 75-66 edge entering the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: James was 15-of-17 from the free-throw line and Miami was 29-of-31 overall. … Johnson was 15-of-23 from the field – including 10-of-13 in the second half – while producing his highest-scoring effort of the postseason. … The Heat were only 9-of-29 from 3-point range but Bosh was 4-of-6 from behind the arc.
